Iowa stick vaulter dies after tumble during meet

GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College in Iowa says a stick vaulterthe school’s lane group has died from injuries suffered in a tumble at a encounter in Illinois last week.

College officials pronounced in a letterthe school’s website that sophomore Robert Zhongjie died Tuesday at an Illinois hospital. The school’s president, Russell K. Osgood, and the clamp boss for tyro affairs, Houston Dougharty, contend the college schooled of the genocide from Zhongjie’s family.

The college says Zhongjie, of Rockville, Md., fell during a safe last Friday at the Midwest Conference Meet at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill. He had been at a Springfield, Ill., sanatorium given the fall.
