Man charged with attack utilizing a snake

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A man "deathly afraid" of reptiles was pounded by a snake-wielding man utilizing a 4-foot-long python as a weapon, military say.

Tony Smith, 29, of 1920 Corwin Drive, Rock Hill, was charged with attack and battery after an rumpus at the Executive Inn on North Anderson Road on Tuesday night, according to a Rock Hill Police report.

Smith is indicted of attack Jeffery Culp, 47, in the head with the snake, military said.

"I roughly had a heart attack," Culp said. "I forsaken to my knees and essentially crawled behind in to my room."

Culp, who has been staying at the motel until his housing comes open, pronounced he had hit with Smith and the lizard progressing in his stay.

"He was out there using up and down the path with it," Culp said. "I told him I dont do snakes. I"m pestilent fearful of them."

But that didnt stop Smith from drumming Culp on the shoulder and putting the python in his face, he said.

Culp pronounced he asked the man with the lizard to spin down song around 9 p.m. Smith was with others racing down the corridor in chairs, Culp said.

"And he said, "Here, see at this,"" Culp said. "He had the snakes head squeezed so the mouth was open. He ran it opposite my face and it attempted to yield in my mouth."

But Culp pronounced he didnt need healing treatment.

Based on Culps description, officers found Smith on the second-floor patio of the motel with the python in his arms, according to the report.

Smith was arrested, and the lizard was expelled to a family member. Smith was expelled on $1,092.50 bond.
